I am obsessed with keeping things as small as possible these days but I still opt to keep the handgrip on for another area to grab the rig and more room to add a monitor and audio gear. I also like that it brings the camera to my eye level while allowing my arms to rest comfortably at my sides. I attach the remote via a few strategically placed Velcro cable ties. Also using a ribbon HDMI cord for maximum balance. Someone should add just a little more protection to the plugs but for now a plastic sleeve helps! So light weight yet stabilization is very smooth.
