Jeff Estanislao, recently uploaded this wedding video he shot with the CAME-Single gimbal! He states that all the tracking/floating shots were filmed with the Single balanced for his Sony A7S and Sony 10-18mm F4 lens.

The CAME-Single is a solid one-hand designed gimbal that is made for cameras like the Panasonic GH4, Sony A7Sii/A7Rii series cameras and the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. The whole gimbal(including parts) fit in a protective portable hard case. The interior of the hard case has foam cut-outs that protect the gimbal and makes sure everything is kept in place. The CAME-Single has three different operating modes that you can cycle through via the button on the side of the handle.

Vimeo user, Luigi De Vita, uploaded this short clip of a video he shot using the CAME-Single gimbal and his Sony A7SII camera + a Sony zeiss 24-70mm f4 lens.

In the video, the CAME-Single is used for tracking the subject as he walks toward the van before ultimately getting in it. The van then drives off and we slowly follow as it starts to leave the parking garage. With a max payload of 2.6 lbs, the CAME-Single is designed to be portable, easy to balance and used with just one-hand. The encoders on the CAME-Single enhances the gimbals performance by preventing the motors from losing sync, increasing the torque/stability and decreasing the power consumption - allowing the gimbal to last longer.

TG Film & Photo, uploaded this test of him following his dog with the CAME-Single gimbal. He balanced his Sony A7SII with a Zeiss 16-35mm lens.
The CAME-Single is a one-handed basecam designed gimbal that utilizes encoder technology to increase the stability of the gimbal. The batteries are internal rechargeable batteries that can last up to 20 hours. The CAME-Single can hold camera setups that don't exceed 2.6 lbs, so its perfect for mirror-less cameras that are lightweight. In the first test video he uploaded, he was walking down a wobbly pontoon in the water to see if any of the bounce can be seen in the footage. Watch the video below! He also states that he didn't add any post-stabilization.

Stein Olsen, posted this short test of his first try using the CAME-Single gimbal. It was shot in Norway and he used a Sony A7SII with a Zeiss 16-35 f4 Lens.
The encoders on the CAME-Single increase the torque, stabilization and helps give the gimbal a longer battery life. The CAME-Single itself weighs about 1.2kg and can carry mirror-less cameras like the BMPCC, Sony A7S/A7R cameras and the Panasonic GH4. There are three different mounting points on the grip itself - (2) 1/4-20" and (1) 3/8". The mounting points will allow the shooter to mount a monitor, microphone, tripod stand or even attach the CAME-Single to a jib. The joystick is incredibly smooth to use, giving you the option to pan and tilt as you use the CAME-Single.

Youtube user, Slashcam, recently uploaded two quick tests he did with the CAME-Single gimbal! Both videos use the CAME-Single, but with different camera setups. The first video uses a Sony A7SII with a FE 3.5-5.6 / 28-70 OSS lens and the second video uses a Panasonic GH4 with a Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 lens.
Each video uses the CAME-Single in different variations. One video focuses on how it performs while you follow a subject and the other video goes through the joystick movements, pan/tilts and holding the CAME-Single as you ride a bike. The CAME-Single is one of the first commercially available 3-axis 32-bit basecam controlled gimbals to offer brushless motors with Encoders.

Filmmaker, Tom Antos, recently used a Sony A7sii balanced on the CAME-Single gimbal to film this entire music video! The video follows singer, Anna Cyzon as she walks around the streets of New York. The CAME-Single is perfect for a project that requires a lot of tracking shots, especially if it takes place in crowded areas.

The CAME-Single is small enough to be carried around, but is also strong enough to handle a max payload of 2.6lbs. Tom Antos, also posted a quick making of the music video, which he uploaded the same time as the music video was released. It goes through the creative process and even shows why he decided to shoot the entire music video with the CAME-Single. Watch the making  below!

Brandon Lane, uploaded this test video that is mainly focused on how the Sony A7Sii Slog2 performs. In the video he decided to try it out by following his dogs with the CAME-Mini 2 gimbal.
The video is all in slo-mo using a Samyang 35mm Cine T1.5 and a Samyang 14mm T3.1 lens shot at 120fps. Brandon Lane, does state that he shot the whole video with the CAME-Mini 2 set to  mode 1(Follow Mode). The CAME-Mini 2 is a tool-less 3 axis gimbal that is designed for smaller bodied cameras like the Panasonic GH4, BMPCC and/or the Sony A7Sii cameras. All of the wiring and electronics are completely enclosed into the frame, offering a clean professional appearance and to also protect the wiring.

Johnnie Behiri from Cinema5D.com recently posted his first impressions and footage of the Sony A7s II. Johnnie Behiri is a BBC freelance cameraman/editor who also films documentaries, commercials, music videos and many other projects.

In the video above, Johnnie, states that he was trying to squeeze “normal footage”, “lowlight” and “slow-motion” parts into one video." In the moving shots Johnnie used our CAME-TV Single Handheld 3-axis gimbal, with the Sony A7sII and Sony 16-35mm lens, which he said was his preferred gimbal.

"CAME-TV CAME-Single is currently my preferred gimbal. Very easy to use and adjust."

We were honored to find out that he was using our CAME-Single gimbal while testing out the new Sony A7sII with great results.

DSC04384-640x360

In the article, Johnnie explains the main advantages of the Sony a7SII from the original a7s:

    • "Internal UHD 4K recording
    • S-log 3 (in addition to S-log 2)
    • Gamma Display Assistant (allows you to monitor your flat S-log 2 or 3 image in a more vivid Rec 709 way)
    • Internal IBIS stabilisation system (5-Axis SteadyShot)
    • A possibility to charge the camera via the USB port
    • A possibility to assign “REC” to other buttons than the awkwardly placed rec button
    • 100fps (PAL), 120fps (NTSC) in HD quality"

He also explains his most noticeable differences from comparing the Sony a7S II to the a7R II:

  • "The addition of S-log 3
  • Up to 120fps in full HD (compared to 60fps)
  • Gamma Display Assist
  • Sony’s a7S II is cleaner in low-light situations compared to the a7R II
  • Because of its higher pixel count, the Sony a7R II can shoot in APS-C S35 crop-mode in 4K. The a7S II can not do that. Further more, any APS-C lens that will be attached to this camera will have strong vignetting at the edges in 4K-mode (APS-C mode is limited to HD resolutions)."
