How to power up the CAME-Optimus
New owners of the CAME-Optimus who may have previously been familiar with it's top selling one-handed predecessor the CAME-Single may have noticed a small difference in how to power up their new device. With the Single, you would turn it on by holding down on the power button on the handle until it boots up. However, owners of the Optimus will come to learn that this is not the case with their new gimbal. To power up the Optimus, you simply need to do a 2-press sequence on the button that is found on the battery itself. Simply give it quick tap, and follow it up with a 2-3 second press & hold sequence until the gimbal turns on.
You can see both procedures performed below.
How to preserve your gimbal’s battery life
Owners of our CAME-Argo and Mini 3 might have noticed something different in each gimbal's battery configuration. We are now using a battery case that has 18650 LiPo batteries allowing you to remove them, charge them and immediately replace them with a backup set of fully charged 18650 LiPo batteries that you might have on standby. This allows you to keep cycling through numerous sets of batteries for an extended gimbal run time.
As with all LiPo batteries it is never good to over-discharge the battery. Over-discharge is when a battery cell voltage drops below the level of circuit protection limit. Once a LiPo battery is over-discharged, it is more than likely that it cannot be recharged and new one would have to be purchased.
We strongly recommend that when the gimbal is not in use or is in storage, to remove the 18650 LiPo batteries from the battery case. Failure to do so can result in over-discharge of the battery/batteries.

How to properly replace your CAME-Single battery
If you recently received a brand new CAME-Single battery to replace your old one, but are unsure of how to install it, feel free to watch the video below to help guide you through the process.
After installing your new battery, please know that a full charge can be achieved in 2-4 hours (depending on current battery life). To assure full functionality, we suggest staying close to your gimbal during the charging process so that it does not overcharge. Overnight and/or unsupervised charging is not advised.
If you own a CAME-Single and suspect that the original built-in battery may be giving you problems (power problems, overheating), you can notify our support department and they can assist you with the matter.
NOTE: If your CAME-Single's handle internal battery configuration contains an extra protective circuit board and differs from the one shown above, then please see this video for steps on how to replace. If you are unfamiliar with the soldering process that is required for this alternate installation process, we'd suggest bringing your Single & battery into a professional electronics/repair shop so they can do it for you.
How do I charge the battery for my Mini-3 or Argo gimbal?
Customers of our newer gimbals may have noticed that the battery charger kits for the CAME-Argo and Mini 3 are slightly different from how they used to be. With this slight change, there is an updated process on how to properly charge your batteries for these gimbals. See the video below for a simple step-by-step breakdown.
The blue LED indicator lights on the battery itself will not blink as it is charging. However, you can press the button to see the progress of the charge.

Using a Multitester to check the voltage on your gimbal battery
Your card is formatted, talent's in place, and your gimbal is perfectly balanced. And just as you're about to roll camera.... your gimbal's battery dies. But wait? You charged your battery overnight, right? Even so, batteries, just like most things that involve power, have a shelf life.
The best way to avoid this nightmarish scenario is to test your batteries on a regular basis using a voltmeter/multitester. Among the many things it's capable of, a multitester can read the voltage of your battery and let you know if it has enough juice in it to perform. And just as easily, it can let you know if the battery is ready to be replaced.
If you don't own or readily have access to a voltmeter or multitester, then you can bring your battery(ies) into most electronics/repair shops or automotive garages. Most of these businesses will test your batteries for free.

CAME-TV IBC 2015 Interview On The CAME-Single By Cinema5D
Cinema5D, passed by the CAME-TV booth during IBC 2015 and shot this quick interview with one of our representatives about the CAME-Single gimbal!
The CAME-Single is a 3-axis gimbal that has extremely accurate readings because of the encoders that are built into the motor. The CAME-Single has a built in battery in the handle itself that you can charge by plugging the charging cable directly to the handle. There's a 1/4-20" mounting point on the side of the handle and a 3/8" along with another 1/4-20" mounting point on the bottom of the handle.

CAME-Single Gimbal Test By Yakir Yahish
Youtube user, Yakir Yahish, posted a new video of him testing out the CAME-Single Gimbal at a Church in Israel.
The CAME-Single is one of the first one-handed gimbals that uses brushless motors with encoders. It has a high voltage internal battery built into the handle that gives the CAME-Single more power and stability with a run time of roughly 20 hours. Also, if you haven't seen Yakir Yahish, other CAME-Single test check it out below.
